Storms are a regular occurrence in the springtime. The storms of life are just as regular. The Psalmist David prayed "Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast." David cried out to God when King Saul was hunting him like a criminal and wanting to kill him. God was David's "safe room" from Saul's rage. In times that looked like David's ruin and destruction, he found safety in God. One reason for this trust in his "calamities" was his realization that God had a plan and purpose for David. He states: " I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me." One translation says, " God Who fufills His purpose for me. In the midst of your storms make your refuge in the shadow of God's wings.
May God bless!
